Expert Solodovnikova recalled that a small pension may be due to unaccounted experience
Russian citizens may face a smaller pension than expected due to incomplete recording of work experience and unofficial work during which insurance premiums were not paid. This was reported by Marina Solodovnikova, a teacher at the Faculty of Economics and Law of the Russian Academy of National Economy and Public Administration.
«Errors in calculating pensions are the exception rather than the rule. But such situations are possible. For example, due to various reasons, labor may be incorrectly taken into account experience,” Solodovnikova noted in an interview with RIA Novosti. She also emphasized the importance of checking her individual pension account through the State Services portal to make sure that all periods of work were taken into account by the social fund.
According to the expert, in order to avoid such mistakes, citizens should regularly check information about their length of service and insurance contributions that were credited to the Social Fund. If inconsistencies are detected, it is important to promptly contact the relevant authorities to correct them.
