The debut of the restyled version of the Aurus Senat in sedan and limousine bodies was timed to coincide with the inauguration of the President of the Russian Federation; he arrived at the ceremony in a new car.
The first public display of the Aurus Senat limousine took place exactly six years ago during Vladimir Putin’s previous inauguration as President of Russia. Aurus Senat limousines are assembled by hand in piece quantities in Moscow at NAMI facilities, and conveyor production of short sedans began in May 2021 at the Sollers plant in Elabuga. The main consumers of this and other Aurus models are the highest authorities of the Russian Federation.

Restyling of the Aurus Senat is planned; it was announced during the launch of the sedan. External changes are quite laconic and do not change the overall monumental appearance of the car: new matrix headlights are narrower than the previous ones, the radiator grille has lost its upper protrusion and received a non-linear profile of the bars, the new aluminum hood is visually wider than the old one due to a change in the shape of the central stamping, the wheels have a more modern design, The taillights have become narrower and are now adjacent to the trunk lid. The trunk lid itself is also new, without a license plate — it moved onto the rear bumper and created a gap in its molding.

The Senate salon has been updated on a larger scale. The front panel is completely new, with a more massive central console, which houses the new touch screen of the NAMI MM-System multimedia system with a built-in voice assistant, while retaining the physical keys for controlling the main functions of climate control, but a separate rotary-pressure washer for controlling the multimedia system no more. The new electronic instrument cluster offers three different display styles to choose from. The automatic transmission lever selector has been replaced by a more compact push-button one. The steering wheel is the same, but with new keys on the spokes.

The design of the door cards is also completely new; buttons for controlling seat settings have been moved to them. There are more video cameras in and on the vehicle; one of them now monitors the driver’s well-being; in addition, a night vision system has been introduced. The ergonomics of the driver's seat have been improved (including by adjusting the position of the steering column). The second row has become more spacious; a new massive console with storage niches, a shelf with wireless charging for a smartphone and a removable tablet for fine-tuning comfort functions has appeared between the seats. In addition, the atmospheric interior lighting has been changed, the noise level has been reduced, and a new audio system has been installed. The doors can be equipped with an electric drive.

There are no details about the changes in the technical stuffing of the Senate yet; at the moment they are described on the NAMI website with the following phrase: “Changes have been made to the design to increase the efficiency of the braking system, wheel suspension, fuel supply system, automatic transmission and other vehicle systems.” The power plant of the pre-restyling Senate, we recall, consists of a 4.4-liter V8 gasoline engine with a power of 598 hp. and a 9-speed hybrid automatic transmission, into which a 62-horsepower electric motor is implanted. Drive is all-wheel drive only. The start date for retail sales of the updated Aurus Senat has not yet been announced.
