MOSCOW, May 8. Inflation in Russia for the period from May 3 to May 6 amounted to 0.09%, since the beginning of the year prices have increased by 2.48%, reported on Wednesday Rosstat.
«For the period from May 3 to May 6, 2024, the consumer price index, according to Rosstat, amounted to 100.09%, from the beginning of May — 100.10%, from the beginning of the year — 102.48%,» it says publications of the statistical office. 
According to Rosstat, during the reporting period, prices for fruits and vegetables decreased by an average of 0.2%. Including cucumbers fell in price — by 4.8%, tomatoes — by 1.3%, and bananas — by 0.1%. Prices for carrots increased by 3.8%, beets — by 3.3%, cabbage — by 2.6%, potatoes — by 1.6%, onions — by 1.2%, apples — by 1.1% .
From May 3 to May 6, prices also increased: pork — by 0.7%; lamb, canned fruit and berries for baby food — by 0.3%; beef, butter, margarine, milk, bread, salt — by 0.2%; chicken meat, sausages, sausages, half-smoked and boiled-smoked sausages, sour cream, canned vegetables for baby food, pasta, millet, tea — by 0.1%. Prices for eggs decreased by 0.8%, canned meat for baby food — by 0.6%, and buckwheat — by 0.2%. Boiled sausages, frozen fish, dry milk formula for baby food, cottage cheese, flour and cookies fell in price by 0.1%.
As follows from the publication of Rosstat, among non-food essential goods for the period from May 3 to May 6, the price of laundry soap increased by 0.2%, toothbrushes and toilet paper increased by 0.1%. Children's diapers fell in price — by 0.2%; toothpastes, diapers for newborns, washing powders and toilet soap — by 0.1%. Among other non-food products, prices for particle boards increased by 0.6% and edged boards by 0.4%.
During the reporting period, an increase in prices for some drugs was recorded, observed in weekly dynamics. Including, Levomekol ointment increased in price by 1.1%, domestic analgin and multivitamins — by 0.2%, allohol — by 0.1%. Prices for validol decreased by 0.3%, the cough medicine Rengalin by 0.2%, combined analgesics and the antiviral drug Ergoferon by 0.1%.
During the period from May 3 to May 6, televisions fell in price by 0.1%, while electric vacuum cleaners and smartphones remained virtually unchanged in price. Prices for new domestic cars also remained virtually unchanged, while prices for foreign cars decreased by 0.1%. Diesel fuel and gasoline added 0.03% in price.
The cost of air travel in economy class increased by 6.6%.
