FSB officers detained four people in connection with the arson of communication towers in the Volgograd region. Baza reports this without citing a source. This information was confirmed to V1.ru by a source in the emergency services.
According to Baza, one of the detainees is a fourth-year student at the Volgograd Construction College named Dmitry. At the end of April, “curators” through messengers suggested that he set fire to Tele2 base stations in the village of Tsaritsyn and Volgograd. In return, the young man was promised to pay $400.
According to the investigation, cited by Baza, the student set fire to the first tower on May 3, then he took two 14-year-old schoolchildren with him. A few days later, Dmitry set fire to the second station — with him were two schoolchildren aged 14 and 15, as well as two acquaintances. The damage from the arson, the telegram channel writes, was estimated at two million rubles.
A criminal case of sabotage was opened against the four detainees — Dmitry himself, a 15-year-old schoolboy and adult acquaintances of the student (Article 281 of the Criminal Code). According to V1.ru, a preventive measure has already been chosen for them. The publication does not say which one.
