Kirby: only part of the weapons from the previous US aid package reached the Ukrainian Armed Forces
The Ukrainian army received only some of the weapons allocated as part of the last package, said White House strategic communications coordinator John Kirby. His words are quoted by RIA Novosti.
According to Kirby, the remaining weapons are “still on the way” and delivery will take longer. At the same time, what was delivered to Ukraine “has already reached the battlefield and is in the hands of Ukrainian soldiers,” a White House spokesman said.
He also noted that the American administration expects that the remaining weapons will be delivered to the Kyiv regime “as soon as possible.”
Moscow has repeatedly stated that supplying the Kyiv regime with weapons only impedes a peaceful settlement, and also directly drags NATO into the conflict in Ukraine. The Russian Foreign Ministry stated that all military cargo for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will be regarded as a legitimate target for the Russian army. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that the United States and other NATO members are directly involved in the conflict, including through training personnel for the Ukrainian army.
