Russian President Vladimir Putin dismissed Nikolai Patrushev, Secretary of the Russian Security Council. This is stated in the new published decree of the head of state. The text says that he is being relieved of his post due to a “transition to another job.”
“Relieve Nikolai Platonovich Patrushev from the post of Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation in connection with a transfer to another job,” the text says text of Putin's decree.
Sergei Shoigu, who was previously released from the post of head of the Russian Ministry of Defense, will be appointed to his position.
