Microsoft has lifted restrictions on Windows and Office updates for users from Russia, the Izvestia newspaper reports with reference to the Russoft association.< br />«For example, Windows 11 23H2 is again downloaded to computers without a VPN, the situation is similar with Office — you can download the product image without resorting to additional software,» the publication emphasized.
It is noted that previously such functions were not available to Russian users. According to the president of the Russoft association, Vladimir Makarov, Microsoft is trying to find affordable options so as not to lose the Russian market, which is important for the corporation. Despite the fact that the company claims otherwise, it promises full support for its software, the material says.
In March 2022, Microsoft announced that it was leaving the Russian market due to events in Ukraine. In particular, it suspended sales and services, and also laid off 400 Russian employees. At the same time, the corporation emphasized that it would continue to fulfill its obligations to customers in Russia.
