BELGOROD, May 14. A house in Belgorod that was partially collapsed after an attack by the Armed Forces of Ukraine was decided to be restored on this site, the final decision will be made after examining the foundation, Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov told reporters.
“The decision was made to restore the house on this site. The final decision will be made after the house is completely dismantled and (the foundation) is examined. I hope that this will allow us to start building the house as quickly as possible. It will be… restored according to the same project, according to which it was built,» Gladkov said.
He clarified that a study of the building's design showed that it consists of several closely spaced houses, which «in some part facilitates… restoration work.» Starting Wednesday, the dismantling of two entrances will begin, that's 89 apartments.
On Sunday, Belgorod came under massive shelling from the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The missile warning signal was announced in Belgorod several times throughout the day. The explosion caused the third entrance to a ten-story building to collapse. According to the latest data, 16 people died when the entrance collapsed.
