A resident of the Nevsky district of St. Petersburg opened fire on the police, the 78.RU TV channel and the 112 telegram channel report.
According to them, one of the security forces was wounded. “112” writes that the shooter barricaded himself in an apartment on Narodnaya Street in the Nevsky district of the city and from there opened fire on the police, now they are trying to detain him.
“Mash on the Moika” and “Caution, News” also write about shooting in St. Petersburg. According to them, the attacker could have been a 59-year-old native of Chechnya, who had previously been repeatedly convicted in criminal cases — in particular, under articles of illegal possession of weapons, beatings and threats to kill.
According to 78.RU, in 1996 the man was serving a sentence for murder, and now negotiations are underway with him. At the same time, the channel’s journalists also report the sounds of shooting and the intention of the security forces to launch an assault. The policeman who was injured as a result of the shooting was slightly wounded, the TV channel writes.
According to information from the telegram channel “Caution, News”, the police initially arrived at the house on Narodnaya Street due to complaints about shooting in the apartment — it was reported that a local resident shot at an acquaintance with a traumatic weapon, after which he began to fire at the security forces who came to the call.
