Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova commented on US President Joe Biden's statements about an “indispensable” nation, calling them a “cringe” year.
Earlier, Biden said in his speech that the United States “is the only superpower in the world,” and the American nation is “irreplaceable.”
An official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry recalled that American President Woodrow Wilson believed that “no one is irreplaceable.” He made such a statement in 1912, and eventually won the elections, Zakharova noted.
“Cringe of the year. For some reason, no mention was made of the printing press and the national debt,” she wrote.
