GROZNY, May 25. Former speaker of the Chechen parliament Magomed Daudov reported in his Telegram channel that the regional parliament supported his candidacy for appointment as chairman of the government of the republic.
“Deputies of the parliament of the Chechen Republic (CR) at the next plenary meeting unanimously supported my candidacy for appointment as chairman of the government of the Chechen Republic,” — wrote Daudov.
In mid-May, Daudov prematurely resigned as chairman of the Chechen parliament — a position he held since July 2015. On Friday, the head of the region, Ramzan Kadyrov, announced that he had nominated him for the post of chairman of the government of the republic.
