The number of complaints about trading platforms is growing every day

The meeting participants noted that the problem with the lack of clear rules for working with marketplaces has already grown to a size where it is impossible to ignore incoming signals from industry participants. The Public Chamber’s commission for public control and work with citizens’ complaints receives hundreds of complaints, including collective ones, about marketplaces. In the last month alone, the number of requests has exceeded half a thousand. One of the appeals was signed by an initiative group uniting hundreds of ordinary employees of pick-up points (points for issuing orders) from 49 regions of Russia. The collective responsibility established by one of the marketplaces for the condition of goods received at the point of delivery results in huge deductions from the salaries of employees, who, according to them, do not have the opportunity to challenge them.
The problems are not limited to distortions in labor relations. The losses of entrepreneurs due to repeated changes in the offer and prices of the dominant trading platforms are already estimated in billions of rubles.
“We are convinced that there should be no place for digital serfdom in this world,” the Chairman of the Association Council outlined the position of small businesses participants in the e-commerce market (AUREK) Alexander Efimov. AUREK prepared a positive review of the Gutenev-Kutepov bill and collected proposals for improvement, calling the initiative comprehensive: the proposed changes to the legislation will lay the foundation for fair online trading in Russia for decades to come.
Following a heated discussion, social activists will gather an extensive array of comments and recommendations for the bill, which, apparently, will be actively refined during its consideration by the State Duma.
