The level of indebtedness of the population in Russia continues to grow rapidly. Recently, the Scoring Bureau calculated that in 2023, the share of citizens with three or more loans reached 28.6%. VTB's new pilot project is designed to help borrowers deal with overdue loans, the press service of the credit institution reported. The comprehensive mechanism will allow for the restructuring of loans in several banks at once.
The press release says that the bank «has developed a universal client consent format that meets the requirements of the legislation on personal data and banking secrecy and will allow the exchange of client information between partner banks.»
After signing the consent to transfer information, the bank will contact other partner banks to assess the implementation of a comprehensive settlement and provide support measures to the borrower.
«VTB strives to provide targeted assistance to clients who find themselves in a difficult life situation and are faced with loan debt. Thanks to consolidated assistance measures by several banks, it will be possible to financially recover the borrower and reduce his credit burden,” summarized the head of the financial regulation department and vice president of the bank, Evgeny Novikov.
