A resident of an Omsk village was sentenced to six years in prison in the case of military “fakes” due to posts on Odnoklassniki.

The Poltava District Court of the Omsk Region sentenced a 55-year-old resident of the village of Olgino to six years in a general regime colony in the case of military “fakes.” Mediazona drew attention to the court’s decision.

The man was found guilty of spreading “fakes” about the Russian army based on political hatred (clause “e” of Part 2 of Article 207.3 of the Criminal Code). The reason for the criminal case was his posts on Odnoklassniki, published from February 6 to February 24, 2023. The man admitted guilt, the court was told. He was also banned from publishing on the Internet for four years.

On the website of the Poltava court there is only one case file with the article under which the villager was convicted. It lists Roman Tyurin as the accused. On February 20, 2024, a man with the same name and age was added to the Rosfinmonitoring list of terrorists and extremists with a note indicating that a criminal case was opened against the man under an article on terrorism. Mediazona was unable to find information about him.

In May 2023, the Poltava court fined Tyurin 30 thousand rubles under the protocol on “discrediting” the Russian army (part 1 of article 20.3.3 of the Administrative Code). This case was also opened because of posts on Odnoklassniki.

On the same day, Tyurin was fined another thousand rubles under the article on propaganda of Nazi symbols (Part 1 of Article 20.3 of the Administrative Code). This report was drawn up against him because of a swastika published in Odnoklassniki.

Posts on Roman Tyurin’s page stopped appearing on August 2, 2023. On February 24, he published 10 posts — all about the war in Ukraine. Among the publications was a screenshot of “my father’s friend, an FSB colonel,” who said that “tomorrow the Ukrainians will strike all of Moscow,” as well as photographs of pickets that took place in Russia on the anniversary of the war in Ukraine. Tyurin’s avatar features an image of a sunflower and a butterfly with the phrase “Everything will be Ukraine.”
