The fight took place as part of a boxing evening in Riyadh and ended in the fifth round. Former interim World Boxing Organization (WBO) world champion Zhang Zhilei won by technical knockout.
The 38-year-old Wilder has four defeats with 43 wins (42 by knockout) and one draw. Wilder was the WBC world champion from 2015 to 2020 and lost the belt after losing to Briton Tyson Fury. 41-year-old Zhang Zhilei now has 27 wins (22 by knockout) with two losses and a draw.
