DONETSK, June 2. Ukrainian troops on Sunday fired 13 NATO shells of 155 mm caliber into the Kirovsky district of Donetsk, Makeevka and Gorlovka in an hour, reports in Telegram -channel representative of the DPR in the Joint Center for Control and Coordination of Issues Related to War Crimes of Ukraine (JCCC).
«Shelling was recorded from the side of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (Ukrainian armed forces — ed.) in the direction: 11.05 — the settlement of Kalinovo — the settlement of Makeevka (Kirovsky district): three shells of 155 mm caliber were fired… 11.40 — the settlement of Zhelannye Second — the city of Donetsk ( Kirov region): three 155 mm caliber shells were fired,” the reports say. 
< br />In addition, it is reported that the Ukrainian Armed Forces fired three more 155-millimeter shells at Gorlovka and four shells at the Kirovsky district of Donetsk.
The Kirovsky district is located in the southwestern part of Donetsk, Petrovsky is on the western outskirts, this is the most remote part of the city from the center. Since 2014, when the DPR declared independence from Kyiv, this district has been regularly shelled by Ukrainian security forces.
Makeyevka is a satellite city of Donetsk, adjacent to it from the northeast. In 2014, the population of Makeyevka was about 350 thousand people.
Gorlovka is located 50 kilometers north of Donetsk, the city is home to the Stirol chemical concern and coal mining enterprises. This is one of the largest populated areas of the DPR; before the start of the conflict in Donbass, the population of Gorlovka numbered more than 250 thousand people.
155 mm artillery is used by NATO countries. The United States supplied Ukraine with long-range howitzers M777 of 155 mm caliber, Ukrainian troops are actively using them to shell the cities of the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics. Also, the Ukrainian troops were supplied with German PzH 2000 self-propelled artillery mounts, Polish Krab self-propelled guns and French CAESAR self-propelled guns using shells of this caliber.
