In the Belgorod region, the deputy head of the administration of the Korochansky district, Igor Nechiporenko, was killed as a result of an explosion of ammunition, said Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov.
An emergency occurred in the Korochansky district, the governor wrote, without specifying details. The head of the district, Nikolai Nesterov, the head of the Melikhovsky rural settlement, Andrei Vedenin, and the head of the Shlyakhovsky rural settlement, Igor Shevlyakov, received “minor injuries.”
“Medical assistance was provided. Now everyone is at their jobs,” the governor added. The deceased Nechiporenko headed the district security council, Gladkov clarified.
Also, the head of the region reported that six civilians were injured as a result of the shelling of the city of Shebekino. Five of them were on two buses at the time of the shelling and received shrapnel wounds to their limbs; another was on the street — he was wounded in the forearm. The victims were taken to hospital No. 2 in the city of Belgorod.
At night, the governor wrote that a Ukrainian Armed Forces drone attacked the village of Ivnya — as a result of “detonation in the air,” according to Gladkov, the roof of a commercial building caught fire , no harm done.
The Russian Ministry of Defense reported on the morning of May 2 that during the night air defense systems shot down three Ukrainian drones — in the Kursk and Belgorod regions and over the Sea of Azov. Later, the department reported that four more drones of the Ukrainian Armed Forces were shot down in the Belgorod region.
