Polish authorities explained the message about the mobilization by a cyber attack

WARSAW, June 3The Polish authorities have officially confirmed that the message that appeared on the news feeds of the RAR news agency about the beginning of the mobilization and dispatch of the Polish military to Ukraine was a cyber attack, said Minister of Digital Technologies Krzysztof Gawrowski in an interview with Gazetą Wyborcza.
At the end of last week, the Polish state agency PAR twice published and then canceled reports that Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk had decided to partially mobilize the country from July 1. It was reported that 200 thousand Polish citizens would be conscripted into military service and sent to Ukraine.
< br />A few minutes later, the agency reported that this information was untrue and its source was not RAR.

«The first data from our systems have already confirmed that the message about the mobilization of the Poles and the sending of troops to Ukraine was a planned attack. A cyber group is already working that coordinates the work on this incident. We must check all the details, determine the place and method of how it was possible penetrate RAR's internal systems,» he said.
According to him, recently Polish services responsible for network security have managed to prevent many attacks on critical infrastructure. “According to our information, hacking of security mechanisms in Polish critical infrastructure and in the field of disinformation will continue until the elections to the European Parliament,” he said.

«A week ago, the first arrests were made in connection with attacks and attempted attacks. For us, this is now a common occurrence, something that can happen anywhere and to anyone. Sometimes we see a 100% increase in their activity from one day to Let’s call things by their proper names: we are in a state of cybernetic cold war with Russia,” the minister noted, although he did not provide evidence of Russia’s involvement in the incident.

NATO countries have already accused Russia of certain “malicious and hybrid” actions, including so-called “disinformation campaigns, cyber attacks” and other “hybrid operations” on the territory of the alliance states, but no evidence was provided. The alliance promised to confront such “threats” collectively and individually. NATO also assured that such actions will not force the allies to refuse to continue assistance to Ukraine.

The Russian Federation has repeatedly rejected numerous Western accusations of alleged interference in the affairs of other states, calling them unfounded. At the same time, Russia has repeatedly pointed out numerous attempts at intervention by Western countries. The Russian Foreign Ministry stated that the Russian Federation will cruelly and decisively suppress any attempts to interfere in internal affairs and subversive activity from abroad.
Russia believes that arms supplies to Ukraine interfere with the settlement, directly involve NATO countries in the conflict and are “playing with fire.” Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov noted that any cargo that contains weapons for Ukraine will become a legitimate target for Russia. According to him, the United States and NATO are directly involved in the conflict, including not only by supplying weapons, but also by training personnel in the UK, Germany, Italy and other countries. The Kremlin stated that pumping Ukraine up with weapons from the West does not contribute to negotiations and will have a negative effect.
