MOSCOW, June 2, Svetlana Bonopartova. President of the Russian Football Union (RFU) Alexander Dyukov told reporters that the organization is negotiating a contract extension with the head coach of the national team Valery Karpin.
The current agreement of Karpin, who has been leading the Russian national team since the summer of 2021, expires in August 2024 of the year. The specialist combines his work in the national team with the position of head coach of Rostov. Earlier, Dyukov stated that the organization is interested in continuing cooperation with Karpin.
““The contract has not yet been agreed upon, but we are negotiating an extension. We will not comment on the details of the negotiations. We will agree to sign a new contract, then you will find out everything,” said Dyukov.
