A criminal case has been opened in Ukhta due to a fire at a local oil refinery. This was reported by the Investigative Committee for the Komi Republic.
The case was opened under the article on violation of industrial safety requirements for hazardous production facilities, which resulted in the death of two people through negligence (part 3 of article 217 of the Criminal Code).
The Shot and Baza Telegram channels and the Komiinform agency, citing sources, previously wrote about two workers of a contractor who died as a result of a tank fire at the Lukoil-Ukhta Oil Refinery. The Ministry of Emergency Situations reported only three victims.
The Investigative Committee added that the fire occurred during scheduled technical work by the contractor.
