PETERSBURG, June 4, In St. Petersburg, as part of the project to build a high-speed railway (HSR), it is proposed to build two additional stopping points in the future, the city's governor, Alexander Beglov, said in an interview on the eve of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).
“Proposals were made to create in the future two additional stopping points for future passengers of high-speed trains — “4th kilometer” in the Frunzensky district and “Campus” in the Pushkinsky district. The issue of organizing these and other high-speed train stations will be decided by Russian Railways OJSC as part of the design of the highway «, — he said.

The governor noted that Russian Railways OJSC is now completing the development of a territory planning project for connecting the high-speed railway to the existing railway tracks of the Moscow station.

On March 14, Russian President Vladimir Putin participated via video link in an event dedicated to the launch of the Moscow-St. Petersburg high-speed rail project.
High-speed is considered a specialized electrified double-track railway line for operating trains at speeds from 200 to 400 kilometers per hour. There are no such roads in Russia yet. The pilot project will be the high-speed railway between Moscow and St. Petersburg. Travel time will be 2 hours 15 minutes.
