The new full-size MPV is available exclusively as a plug-in hybrid. A rather impressive list of equipment is announced for the model.
Xinghai is a new line of the Forthing brand (aka Fengxing), owned by the Chinese concern Dongfeng. The series was created specifically for electrified and relatively prestigious models. Well, its serial first-born was a rechargeable hybrid minivan with the V9 index: “live” sales of the model started in the Middle Kingdom last weekend.
The Forthing Xinghai V9 is available with two front end designs. You can choose a minivan with horizontal slits on an impressive radiator grille and sophisticated two-section running lights. The second version has original DRLs, and on an equally solid grille there are vertical dies, which in addition form an intertwined pattern on top.

According to local specialized media, depending on the version, the length of the minivan varies from 5230 to 5251 mm. The remaining dimensions are the same for all modifications: width – 1920 mm, height – 1820 mm, wheelbase – 3018 mm. Thus, in terms of size, the Forthing Xinghai V9 is not far from the latest generation GAC Trumpchi M8.
The new Forthing has a seven-seater cabin by default (2+2+3). The “simple” versions of the V9 have a two-screen display inside, that is, a combined virtual instrument panel (12.3 inches) and a touchscreen multimedia system (16.2 inches). Expensive trim levels are equipped with another multimedia display (12.3 inches) — it is located in front of the front passenger. In addition, the list of luxury equipment includes heated and ventilated seats in the first and second rows (plus a massage function), folding tables and a panoramic roof. And the chairs located in the middle have footrests and separate “remotes” built into the armrests. Finally, the Forthing Xinghai V9's arsenal includes all-round cameras and adaptive cruise control.

The minivan installation included a 1.5 petrol turbo engine and an electric motor, the total output is 310 hp. and 540 Nm. The basic Xinghai V9 received a battery with a capacity of 20.16 kWh; on electric power alone, such a van will travel 100 km according to the Chinese CLTC cycle. The remaining versions are equipped with a battery with a capacity of 34.94 kWh, and the rated range is 200 km. The total range is 1200 and 1300 km, respectively.
The price of Forthing Xinghai V9 ranges from 199,900 to 279,900 yuan, which is equivalent to approximately 2.5 million — 3.5 million rubles at the current exchange rate.
The Forthing brand is also represented outside of China — including in Russia. So it is possible that the Xinghai V9 minivan will subsequently appear on our market.
