MOSCOW, June 1 Head of the United faction Russia» in the State Duma, Vladimir Vasiliev, on behalf of the faction deputies, expressed condolences in connection with the death of Artur Chilingarov.
State Duma Deputy Artur Chilingarov passed away at the age of 85.
«Sad news. Our comrade, Hero of the Soviet Union, Hero of Russia, world-famous scientist, member of the United Russia faction in the State Duma, Artur Nikolaevich Chilingarov, has passed away… On behalf of the deputies of the United Russia faction» I express my sincere condolences to my friends and family,” Vasilyev’s words are quoted in the Telegram channel of the United Russia faction in the State Duma.
He noted that Chilingarov was a true patriot, who more than once showed courage and heroism during his numerous polar expeditions.
“His parliamentary, legislative work, active participation in projects of the Russian Geographical Society deserves the highest appreciation and sincere recognition… For all of us, his death is an irreparable loss,” added Vasiliev.
