WASHINGTON, June 3 The United States has nothing to do with France’s decision not extend an invitation to Russia to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Normandy landings, White House spokesman John Kirby said Monday.
“The decision to refuse an invitation to Russia on the occasion of this day belongs to France, and the United States was not involved in it,” Kirby said during a briefing.
According to the White House representative, Washington respects Paris’ decision on this matter and invites the French side to comment on it independently.
