The Motorinvest company, the official distributor of Dongfeng cars in the Russian Federation, continues the large-scale expansion of the Chinese concern’s model range promised a year ago. Thus, the recently launched coupe-like SUV DFSK ix7 and crossover DFSK ix5 will soon be joined by the younger five-door DFSK 500. Let us remind you that DFSK is a joint project of Dongfeng and Seres. Well, the “five hundredth” is already familiar to Russians in one way or another — it is a gasoline analogue of the Evolute i-Joy electrocross.

In terms of its dimensions, the DFSK 500 crossover is comparable to Chery Tiggo 4 Pro, Belgee X50/Geely Coolray and GAC GS3, which has just launched in Russia. The length of the “five hundred” is 4385 mm, width – 1850 mm, height – 1645 mm, wheelbase – 2655 mm. The passport ground clearance is 191 mm. Trunk volume is 318 liters.
On the Russian market, the DFSK 500 will be presented with an uncontested 1.5 naturally aspirated petrol engine (116 hp, 148 Nm), which is combined with a CVT. The drive is exclusively front-wheel drive.

According to the consumer website of Dongfeng passenger cars, only one trim level has been announced for the crossover so far. The list of equipment includes: 17-inch wheels, halogen headlights, heated exterior mirrors, leather interior, analog instruments, a multimedia system with a 7-inch screen, heated front seats, air conditioning, a rear-view camera, a keyless entry system and an engine start button, a pair of airbags, ESC and cruise control.
The crossovers have begun to arrive at dealerships, and pre-orders are open. But the price has not yet been announced — it will be revealed by the end of June. At the same time, it is reported that the price will be «affordable». Probably, DFSK 500 will be the cheapest SUV in the local range of Dongfeng concern. For now, this title belongs to the Dongfeng 580 crossover (from 2,499,000 rubles excluding promotions). The Evolute i-Joy electric car now costs from 3,995,000 rubles (also excluding discounts and promotions).
