WASHINGTON, June 4 Leader of the Turkish Cypriots Ersin Tatar said that after media reports that Vladimir Zelensky purchased a hotel in the north of Cyprus, he spoke with the owner of this property, the head of Oscar Group, and received confirmation that the relevant information was not true.
Turkish media reported earlier that Film Heritage Inc has acquired the Vuni Palace hotel and casino, located in northern Cyprus. Film Heritage Inc. registered in Belize and owned by Zelensky, information about Zelensky’s offshore companies was published by the Pandora Papers investigation. In particular, according to Odav Tv, the purchase was completed in early May 2024. The transaction amount is unknown, the price of the casino could be 150 million pounds sterling. The establishment was built in 2006, media reported.
“I spoke with the owner Hussein Oscar… He confirms that this is not true,” Tatar said.
Cyprus President Nikos Christodoulides, whose statement was broadcast by Sigma TV, also stated that the relevant reports were not confirmed.
The Ukrainian Embassy in Cyprus called the publication a lie created with the aim of “creating diplomatic tension between Ukraine and Cyprus,” the TV channel reported.
