MOSCOW, June 5Russia's GDP growth in April accelerated to 4.4% in annual terms from 4.2% in March; in January-April the economy grew by 5.1% compared to the same period last year, says the review of the Ministry of Economic Development “On the current situation in the economy.”
«According to the Russian Ministry of Economic Development, in April 2024, GDP exceeded the level of last year by 4.4% year-on-year after 4.2% year-on-year in March… According to the Russian Ministry of Economic Development, based on the results of January–April 2024 GDP growth amounted to 5.1% year on year,” the document says.
The ministry also noted that in monthly terms, GDP in April grew by 0.2%, excluding seasonal factors.
The forecast of the Ministry of Economic Development for 2024 assumes growth of the Russian economy by 2.8%.
