MOSCOW, June 5 In May, oil companies received payments from the Russian budget under the fuel damper mechanism in the amount of 201.7 billion rubles for April, according to data from the Russian Ministry of Finance.
A year earlier, the payment was 103.5 billion rubles.
In April of this year, payments to companies amounted to 187.2 billion rubles, in March — 164.4 billion rubles, in February — 127.9 billion rubles, and in January — 146.6 billion. The corresponding payments in 2023 amounted to 1.589 trillion rubles against 2.171 trillion rubles in 2022.
The damping mechanism was adjusted from September 1 last year and is valid until the end of 2026. According to the law, payments to oil companies from the Russian budget were halved — a reduction factor of 0.5 was introduced into the calculation formula. But later the Russian government decided to restore the fuel damper to its previous volume from October 1, changing the coefficient from 0.5 to 1.0.
