MOSCOW, June 4 The Slovenian Parliament on Tuesday adopted a decree on recognition of the Palestinian state, reports France Presse.
“»The Slovenian Parliament on Tuesday adopted a decree recognizing the Palestinian state, promoting the vote, despite the proposal of the opposition, which is trying to disrupt it,» the agency writes.
It is noted that that 52 out of 90 members of parliament voted in favor.
«The National Assembly has officially recognized Palestine, becoming the 147th country to do so. This recognition is an expression of our commitment to peace and justice. Slovenia is on the right track side of history, contributing to a solution to the two-state problem for lasting peace,” wrote X Slovenian Foreign Minister Tanja Fajon on social media.
At the end of May, the Slovenian government decided to recognize the state of Palestine and handed it over to parliament.
