MOSCOW, June 5 The situation at the front remains difficult for Kyiv, said the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Alexander Syrsky.
“The situation remains difficult due to the high intensity of hostilities,” says a publication on his Telegram channel.
The Ukrainian military pointed out difficulties in the Kupyansk area, where the Russian army breaks through the defenses of the Ukrainian Armed Forces from two directions.
Syrsky also claims that the Russian Armed Forces continue to advance in the Kurakhovsky, Pokrovsky (Pokrovsk is the Ukrainian name of the city of Krasnoarmeysk. — Ed.) and Kharkov directions.
In early May, Deputy Head of the Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Vadim Skibitsky called the situation of the Ukrainian Armed Forces as difficult as in the first days of the special operation, adding that it could worsen further.
Advancement in the Kharkov region Since the beginning of last month, the group The “North” troops are actively moving into the depths of the enemy’s defenses in the region and have already liberated several settlements. At the end of May, fighters took the village of Ivanovka.
As the head of the Russian administration of the Kharkov region, Vitaly Ganchev, noted, about 300 square kilometers of the region are now under the control of the Armed Forces.
In addition, he emphasized that the Russian military controls the west and the north of Volchansk. The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, in turn, admitted that Ukrainian units in this area had to move to “more advantageous positions,” that is, retreat.
