KAZAN, June 5 Gala concert of the 1st Competition-festival “Young Virtuosos of Kazan/2024” will be held in the capital of Tatarstan on Wednesday, 13 winners will receive diplomas on behalf of the mayor of Kazan , the organizing committee reported.
The competition-festival «Young Virtuosos of Kazan» is held under the patronage of the Honored Artist of Russia Aida Garifullina. The organizer was the Sofia Gubaidulina Center for Contemporary Music. The project is aimed at supporting and developing the abilities of creatively gifted children, increasing their performance level and interest in the profession, as well as popularizing academic musical art.
«13 winners of the competition will take part in the gala concert. They will be awarded diplomas on behalf of the mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin, and a special letter from Aida Garifullina,» said a representative of the organizing committee of the competition.
Together with the orchestra of the Center for Contemporary Music of Sofia Gubaidulina, the contestants will perform masterpieces of world classics — works by Bach and Handel, music by famous Tatar composers Yakhin and Bakirov, as well as the best examples of modern jazz and arrangements of folk songs.
Earlier, Garifullina noted that more than 100 talented children took part in the competition — students of children's music schools and art schools of Kazan — instrumental soloists, school ensembles. According to her, the project helps talented children to believe in themselves and gives them the opportunity to reach a new level of understanding of their future profession.
The famous opera singer Placido Domingo also addressed parting words to the competition participants, who wished the guys to continue to work hard and love music, so that this hobby would bring them a lot of happiness.
