ST. PETERSBURG, June 6. The amount of funds stolen from Russians by telephone scammers is estimated to be about 250 billion rubles a year, Stanislav Kuznetsov, deputy chairman of Sberbank, told reporters at SPIEF.
““If you derive a calculation formula using simple algorithms, then this figure will be about 250 billion rubles a year, which Russian citizens lose from telephone fraud,” he said. 
““We believe that it is better to tell the truth, to look for ways to solve the problem together in order to restore order,” added Kuznetsov.
The deputy chairman noted that the Central Bank only considers what other credit institutions submit to it as reports, which in turn received statements from their clients, and this figure last year was about 16 billion rubles. The Ministry of Internal Affairs has its own statements from Russians from whom fraudsters stole funds, and speaks of a figure of more than 150 billion rubles.
«The regulator of rights and the Ministry of Internal Affairs are right, if we want to understand what the real figure of losses of Russian citizens from telephone fraud is, then calculations and algorithms of a different level are required,» he concluded.
