MOSCOW, June 7, Russian private media companies can and even should engage in international activities that would promote national interests, believes Alexander Zharov, CEO of Gazprom-Media Holding.
Zharov took part in the session «Art Without Borders: Development of Cultural Diplomacy» as part of the SPIEF-2024.
«Any private media company is focused on making a profit, but in order to make a profit in our own and foreign markets, we must produce a product that will be in demand by viewers both in our country and in other countries. We talked about co-production of films, and I am absolutely sure that this is a tool of diplomacy in the field of culture,» the holding quoted Zharov as saying.
He noted that Gazprom-Media Holding is actively developing cooperation with foreign partners. Evidence of this is the cooperation agreement signed in May with the China Media Corporation, as well as the regular participation of the company's assets in prestigious industrial exhibitions around the world.
