MOSCOW, June 7 The investigation period in the case of the ex-commander of the 58th Army of the Russian Armed Forces, General Ivan Popov, has been extended until August 11, said the judge of the 2nd Western District Military Court.
““The investigation period in this case has been extended until August 11, 2024,” the judge said, announcing the case materials.
Today the court is openly considering Popov’s complaint about the refusal to transfer him from the pre-trial detention center to house arrest.
In May 235, the garrison military court refused to transfer Popov from the pre-trial detention center to house arrest. After the meeting, the general’s lawyer reported that the prosecutor did not support the investigator’s request to mitigate the preventive measure.
