MOSCOW, May 31.At VDNKh in pavilion N84 and on its terrace on June 1-2 from 14.00 to 22.00 the theater and music festival “Moscow Village X Istok” will be held. The headliners will be Husky, Linda, Masha and the Bears. This was reported by the press service of Channel One.
«Legendary hitmakers Linda, Masha and the Bears and Husky, folk jazz classics by multi-instrumentalist Sergei Starostin, as well as the brightest young representatives of neofolk in Russia — the Voronezh group Volya, the Dagestani group Nooo, What's wrong, Moscow's Zalpom, Ermak!, Kasha and others. Festival guests will be able to test their own singing skills, meet people passionate about folklore, and listen to many excellent musical compositions,» the press service said.
The program of the Moskovskaya Village X Istok festival also includes lectures on music, master classes on singing and playing various instruments.
«Istok» gathers around itself people who are in love with Russian traditional culture. And the festival “Moscow Village X Origin” is our summer flagship project. We want to show the audience how folklore, in its broadest sense, flourishes on the current music scene, how real antiquity can be combined with modern sound, and how love for one’s land comes to life in all this. We are happy that we were able to gather so many diverse musicians on one stage. It turned out like a patchwork canvas — a very accurate symbol of what is happening on the musical map of our country and in our culture in general,” the press service quotes Sofya Ernst, producer of the “Istok” project, creative producer of the “We’re Playing a Wedding” program.
