Americans will be among the first to receive the new Toyota five-door; they will be offered a fairly large car in the form of an all-wheel drive hybrid HEV.
This Toyota SUV was first revealed in 2022 – it is a member of a separate new generation Crown family, which, we recall, also includes a couple of sedans and another crossover. Formally, the model belongs to the SUV segment, although in fact it is more likely an alloy of a crossover and a station wagon. So it is not surprising that in its homeland the car was announced as the Crown Estate. But in the USA the model has a different name – Toyota Crown Signia. The American five-door was shown last fall. Now the Crown Signia has been completely declassified, the composition of the trim levels and prices have been announced. «Live» sales will start in the States before the end of summer.

Toyota does not talk about this directly, but American specialized media are confident that the Crown Signia will displace the more compact Venza SUV of the current generation (in Japan it is the Harrier) from the local range. The latest model did not achieve any particular success in the States: last year it sold 29,907 copies (-11%). At the same time, curiously, the Americans also write that in the case of the Crown Signia, the brand does not expect large sales volumes: they say, this is a niche and prestigious model.

The length of the Crown Signia is 4930 mm, width – 1880 mm, height – 1626 mm, wheelbase – 2850 mm. That is, in terms of its dimensions, the five-door is close to the American Toyota Highlander (length — 4950 mm, distance between the axles — the same 2850 mm). Signia's passport ground clearance is 170 mm.

In America, the new product is offered exclusively as an all-wheel drive HEV hybrid (without the ability to charge from the mains). The installation includes a 2.5 naturally aspirated gasoline engine and three electric motors, two of which are integrated into the electromechanical variator, and the third is located on the rear axle. According to updated data, the total output of the Toyota Crown Signia is 243 hp. It is stated that the crossover accelerates from zero to 97 km/h in 7.1 seconds.
