ST. PETERSBURG, June 7. Preparations for the final of the High Technology Championship in Veliky Novgorod are underway; it is scheduled from September 17 to 21, Governor of the Novgorod Region Andrei Nikitin said in an interview at SPIEF.
The final will take place at the Valdai Innovation Science and Technology Center. The fundamental difference will be in the development of the main part of competencies. They will be located in temporary exhibition pavilions with a total area of 4 thousand square meters on the territory adjacent to the site. 
«Preparations are underway. Of course, this year we will still go along the existing track. And then Minister Sergei Kravtsov and I will discuss in great detail, so that the professions of the future answer the questions that are in the strategy voiced by the president… What is the championship? This is a platform for developing educational standards for new competencies,” Nikitin noted.
He clarified that the list of competencies has expanded: to 12 in the main category and four categories for juniors. All of them are developed taking into account current business needs and affect key areas of the economy. From the field of agriculture — these are «Agrobots», engineering technologies — «Installation and maintenance of industrial robots», «Optoelectronics», «Dispatching of technological processes» and «Smart home systems». Areas of IT and business — «Digital opportunities for business», «Data analysis specialist (BI analyst)», development of artificial intelligence — «Artificial intelligence technologies in complex unmanned systems.» As well as competence in the development of rehabilitation technologies, the development of the gaming industry and virtual worlds.
«Currently, infrastructure lists for the finals of the Championship have already been formed and sent for approval to the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation. We expect that this year it will be visited by delegations from more than 20 foreign countries, and at least 3,000 people will become participants in the Business program,» — the governor added.
