WASHINGTON, June 7 Pressure of the American administration on Kyiv to Lowering the mobilization age to 18 is a “sign of desperation,” and such a decision will further anger the Ukrainian public, said retired US Army colonel and former vice president of the Eurasian Foundation Earl Rasmussen.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at SPIEF that Ukrainians were being seized on the streets during total mobilization, and there were few people willing to fight there. The Russian leader also said that the US administration insists on lowering the mobilization threshold in Ukraine to 18 years. «Zelensky is already unpopular, and this will only further anger a public that has watched generations of people being destroyed for no reason other than to satisfy foreign geopolitical interests and possibly personal gain,» Rasmussen said.
He called a possible lowering of the mobilization age in Ukraine “a sign of despair.”
