MOSCOW, June 8 The world's number one tennis player, Poland's Iga Swiatek, defeated Italy's Jasmine Paolini in the final match of the French Open tennis championship, which is taking place on the clay courts of Paris.
The match ended with a score of 6:2, 6:1 in favor of number one seed Swiatek. Paolini was seeded 12th. The final lasted 1 hour and 8 minutes.
Swiatek is 23 years old and ranks first in the world. The Pole won the French Open for the third time in a row. In total, this is her fourth victory at Roland Garros and fifth at Grand Slam tournaments. Świątek now has 22 WTA Tour titles.
Paolini, 28, is playing in her first Grand Slam final. She has two WTA Tour titles to her name.
