BUDAPEST, June 9. Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, in an interview with HirTV, ironically called the US idea to provide a $40 billion loan to Ukraine under guarantees from European states as excellent.
“The Americans came up with an excellent proposal: they would lend a new $40 billion to Ukraine, and we, the Europeans, guarantee that the Ukrainians will repay this money,” he said.
According to him, Ukraine is rich in resources, but heavily in debt, and foreign companies may already own its fertile lands and other economic assets.
Orban added that many in the West I want to go back to the 1990s, when not only Ukraine was available, but also Russia, its resources and assets and money, which is why they hope to defeat Russia.
«The situation in fact is that Western military leaders want to win in war against Russia. Great plan! So simple! But for the sake of money, assets, influence, as usual,” concluded the Hungarian leader.
Orban has repeatedly criticized the West’s actions in the Ukrainian conflict. The United States is delaying it because the American military industry receives huge orders, although the majority of the population, including in Europe, is interested in peace, the Hungarian Prime Minister believes.
