The Israeli military, as a result of an operation in Gaza, freed four hostages whom Hamas militants captured on October 7 last year during an attack on a music festival. This was reported by the press service of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).
40-year-old Shlomi Ziv, 25-year-old Noa Araghamani, 21-year-old Almog Meir Yan and 27-year-old Andrei Kozlov, a citizen of Russia and Israel, returned from captivity. Kozlov is a native of St. Petersburg. He lived alone in Israel; his entire family remained in Russia.
According to the press service of the Israeli army, all those released are “in good condition.” They are currently undergoing examination at the Sheba Medical Center.
On October 7, 2023, Hamas militants attacked cities and communities in southern Israel. As a result, about 1,200 people were killed, more than 200 were captured. At the Nova electronic music festival near the border with the Gaza Strip, the bodies of at least 260 people were found.
According to Israeli authorities, more than a hundred remain in the Gaza Strip hostages, some of them were declared dead by the IDF.
