In Saratov, the concert of the singer Dora (Daria Shikhanova) was canceled an hour before it started. This was reported on the page dedicated to the performance on VKontakte.
Initially the concert was supposed to take place at the Onyx nightclub on June 8. Three hours before the start, the organizers said that the performance was being moved to another venue, and later announced the cancellation of the event “for reasons beyond the control of the organizer and artist.” They assured that Dora would still perform in Saratov, but on another day. Which one is unknown.
On the day of the scheduled concert, the chairman of the Saratov Regional Duma Committee on Education and Culture, Alexander Blatman, wrote that he was surprised by Dora’s attempts to perform in her native Saratov. United Russia called the singer an “unpatriotic artist” because she “criticized the special operation.”
Blatman also accused the management of the club where Dora’s concert was planned, that “the benefits from the show are much more valuable to him than the country and its citizens.” According to the deputy, the administration of the venue “like this Dora, demonstrated its position towards the guys who shed blood for the future of Russia, for their children and grandchildren.”
This is not the first cancellation of Dora’s concert in Saratov . In March, the singer announced the postponement of her performance, scheduled for March 1, after a statement by Russian rower and Olympic medalist Sergei Ulegin. The athlete did not like the titles of the artist’s songs and the fact that “this young lady calls on young people to commit illegal actions and criticizes the SVO.” Then Dora’s concerts were also canceled in Voronezh and Yekaterinburg.
February 24, 2022 — the day of the invasion of Russian troops into Ukraine — Dora wrote in her story: “I am infinitely sorry, this is all incredibly scary.” After this, several of her concerts were canceled in Russia. Fontanka included the singer on the list of artists banned due to her anti-war position.
