BRUSSELS, 10 June. The first official preliminary results of the elections to the European Parliament confirm the leadership of the European People's Party (EPP), which supports the current head of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, it receives 186-189 seats out of 720.
«The EPP party receives 186 seats, the party S&D — 133 seats, the European Renewal party — 82 seats, the European Conservatives and Reformists group — 70 seats, the Identity and Democracy group — 60 seats,» a representative of the EP press service said on air.
Later, he adjusted the data — after new information appeared from Italy and some other EU countries: the EPP already, preliminary, receives 189 seats in the new composition of the European Parliament. The votes of five more countries of the community have not yet been taken into account.
