PARIS, June 10 Appointed by French President Emmanuel Macron's elections to the National Assembly (the lower house of the French parliament) against the backdrop of his party's loss in the European elections will have the «most serious consequences» in the country's modern history, French Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire said on Monday.
The day before, after the announcement of the preliminary results of the elections to the European Parliament, Macron announced the dissolution of the National Assembly and the holding of early parliamentary elections in two rounds — on June 30 and July 7.

“These parliamentary elections will have the most serious consequences for France, for the French in the entire history of the Fifth Republic,” he said on RTL radio.

According to Le Maire, the results of the European Parliament elections were a signal to the Macron camp. The minister believes that now supporters of the current president need to offer voters “clear” and “simple” things.
The final results of voting for the European Parliament, published on the official election website, show that in France the right-wing National Rally party won 31.37% of the votes. It is followed by a coalition with Macron's Renaissance party with 14.6%. Third place was taken by the list of deputies from the Socialist Party and the Public Place party with 13.83%, fourth by Unbowed France with 9.89%, fifth by the Republicans party with 7.25%, sixth by Environmentalists » with 5.5%, seventh — «Reconquest» with 5.47%.
