BUDAPEST, June 10 Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orban said that the elections to the European Parliament went as he planned and wanted, as a result, it was possible to “slow down the train” that was carrying Europe to a new war.
«During the campaign, I only said that the elections to the European Parliament are an opportunity to slow down or stop the increasingly rapid slide of European politicians into war. First in Europe, then in the USA. If we cannot put these two halves together, if we If we cannot win this competition between supporters of peace and war, we will soon be drawn into a war in Europe,” Orban said in an interview with M1 TV.
According to him, the elections took place as “planned and wanted.”
«This train was slowed down. It could also be stopped, because in France, which was the country that most decisively advocated the war, a real political earthquake occurred. Parliamentary elections should be called there, and they have already been called, since the supporters of peace won with such with enormous strength and a large number of votes. If the pro-peace parties can win the parliamentary elections, then I think we will win the first half,” Orbán said.
The Hungarian Prime Minister added that “we are now waiting for (former US President) Donald Trump to bring the other half to the US, and then peace will come.”
Earlier, Orban said that Europe was rushing towards war like a train “with a mad driver”; this must be prevented. According to him, the pro-war politicians of Europe, like drug addicts, want to defeat Russia, as they tried twice in the 20th century, but do not understand reality. Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjártó said that EU citizens in the European Parliament elections can press the stop valve on a train that is rushing uncontrollably towards a third world war.
Orban previously stated that the current processes in years could be called a prelude to the third world war or even an episode of it, if the “military psychosis of Brussels” is not stopped.
He noted that statements by Western politicians and the media indicate that Europe is preparing for the start of a war with Russia. According to him, NATO working groups in Brussels are trying to determine how the alliance can take part in the conflict in Ukraine. At the same time, Budapest is thinking about how Hungary, as a NATO member, can not participate in the alliance’s actions outside its territory, he emphasized.
