ST. PETERSBURG, June 10. The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum this year was attended by a record number of participants over the past few years, Roscongress reported.
“Despite the sanctions, in 2024 the forum was attended by a record number of participants, which surpassed similar figures in recent years. Guests and participants of the event gathered to discuss international trade and cooperation, sales markets, technological leadership and investment,” says the foundation’s press release .

According to the Presidential Advisor, Executive Secretary of the SPIEF Organizing Committee Anton Kobyakov, the events were attended by 21,800 people from 139 countries and territories.
The forum was attended by the presidents of Bolivia, Zimbabwe, Abkhazia and Republika Srpska Luis Alberto Arce Catacora, Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa, Aslan Bzhania and Milorad Dodik.
In addition, members of the royal families of Bahrain and Saudi Arabia arrived at the SPIEF site. The delegation from China was the largest among foreign guests — 192 people.
Oman received honorary guest country status this year, its delegation was led by the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment Promotion, Qais bin Mohammed Al Youssef. The Sultanate participated in SPIEF under the slogan of exploring opportunities for implementing joint projects in promising areas of interstate cooperation.
More than a thousand agreements were signed at the forum for a total amount of almost six and a half trillion rubles. The organizers take into account only those agreements that are not a commercial secret.
