MOSCOW, June 12The Russian company Stratim has created the Sparrow reconnaissance drone, a domestic analogue of the Chinese Mavic copters widely used today in the Northern Military District to adjust artillery fire, a company representative said.
«»The Sparrow drone is designed for reconnaissance and fire adjustment, that is, in terms of functionality, it is our domestic analogue of the Mavic copters widely used at the front on both sides. We have come up with a UAV that is in no way inferior to it: compact, foldable, with practically similar technical characteristics and control panel,” the agency’s interlocutor said. 
«Sparrow» was presented at the Helirussia-2024 exhibition, which takes place from June 10 to 12 in Moscow.
The developer noted an important advantage of the Sparrow over the Mavic: according to him, the domestic drone operates on a non-commercial frequency, which today is poorly suppressed by Ukrainian electronic warfare systems, unlike the Mavic, whose frequencies are “known and unchangeable.”
Also, the Sparrow ground station is connected to a neural network, which helps the drone operator recognize targets such as armored vehicles, artillery, infantry, vehicles and others.
The Stratim company (Moscow), specializing in the development and production of attack and reconnaissance drones with artificial intelligence and machine vision, was founded in 2022. Its core consists of people from leading domestic technical universities, including Moscow Aviation Institute and Moscow State Technical University named after Bauman.
The enterprise was named after the fabulous bird Stratim from ancient Slavic mythology.
