MOSCOW, June 10 State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin said that legislative support for the instructions of Russian President Vladimir Putin at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum is a priority of the State Duma, the Duma has already begun work on bills in accordance with the president’s instructions at SPIEF.
Volodin said this following a meeting of the State Duma Council, the State Duma press service reported.
“Legislative support for the initiatives voiced by Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin within the framework of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum is our priority… The President set a number of specific tasks that deputies together with the government will have to solve in the near future. Decisions must be made as quickly as possible,” Volodin said .
According to the Chairman of the State Duma, first of all, we are talking about socially significant bills: on the indexation of pensions of working pensioners and ensuring accelerated growth of wages.
“We also have to consider a number of bills to support the economy and our regions, including bills on the development of public-private partnerships in industry and space, on a federal deduction to stimulate investment in economic development, on a regional investment standard, which should provide uniform principles for attracting investors, and also about creative industries and measures to support them,” Volodin noted.
At a meeting of the State Duma Council, as reported by the State Duma press service, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Alexander Zhukov was instructed, together with the relevant committees, to present proposals for the implementation of the legislative support plan adopted by the president decisions.
«Work on bills has already begun. We also expect proposals from the government as part of the president's initiatives aimed at providing support to our citizens, economy, and regions. This is important for improving the quality of life of people and achieving national development goals,» – Volodin concluded.
