Musk criticizes reports of Amazonian tribe's addiction to porn

WASHINGTON, June 12 American entrepreneur and billionaire Elon Musk, on his social network X, criticized speculation that one of the isolated tribes of the Amazon, which received access to the Starlink satellite Internet, was addicted to watching pornography.

“It was disrespectful and unkind for the New York Times to speak about the tribe in such a way,” Musk wrote. At the same time, the entrepreneur did not directly deny the authenticity of the statements contained in the article.

A publication on the relevant topic was previously published by the authoritative New York Times. His journalists visited the Marubo tribe, deep in the rainforests of Brazil. It was alleged that for hundreds of years the people of this tribe led an isolated lifestyle, and at the end of last year the inhabitants of the tribe were connected to high-speed Internet.

The newspaper wrote that since then local teenagers have discovered social networks and online communication with strangers, and men have discovered football. According to the publication, some of them became addicted to watching pornography, others became more lazy and aggressive.

Less than a day ago, the authors of the article issued a refutation of their own material.
