On the eve of Ford’s birthday, Avito Auto experts analyzed the demand for new cars and used cars from this manufacturer. It turned out that the demand for used Ford Focus is highest.
The leader in terms of share of demand among used cars of this brand was the compact Ford Focus. Focus's share in demand is 52.8%, and in supply — 54.5% with an average price of 1,720,000 rubles. It is much younger than its colleagues: it has been produced since the late 90s. Moreover, the model range was always quite wide: it included a three- and five-door hatchback, a sedan and a station wagon. In Russia alone, in the first decade after its release, about 500,000 cars of this model were sold, also thanks to the localization of its assembly. The most popular in our country was the sedan, while in Europe they preferred the station wagon. There are already 4 generations in the history of the Ford Focus, and the last one was introduced in 2018.
The second place in terms of share in demand for used cars was taken by Ford Transit: its share is 10.5%. The same model was in first place in the new car segment, receiving 79.5% of demand. The average price of a new Ford Transit in January-May 2024 was 6,200,000 rubles, with mileage — 1,170,000 rubles. Ford Transit is one of the manufacturer's most commercially successful models. Its production began in 1965, and in 2009 the six millionth van was assembled. The machine is popular due to its versatility. It can even transport elephants — this is exactly how the London Zoo used the car. This happened in that same 1965, and, of course, we were talking not about elephants, but about baby elephants, but two animals were placed in one car at once. Transit is also used for passenger transportation, and even the stars do not neglect it. For example, the British Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton chose this car model to remain incognito while traveling around one of the islands in Wales. Ford Transit has already gone through four generations with several restylings within each. And it is still being produced: sales have exceeded 8 million, and the manufacturer himself claims that they buy this model every 180 seconds.

The third line in the rating of Ford cars is occupied by the mid-size Mondeo, produced from 1993 to 2022. Its name comes from the Latin Mundus, which means “world”. The development of the model turned out to be very expensive: it cost about 6 billion dollars. This model has not been supplied to Russia from Europe since 2019, however, in 2022, Mondeos from China appeared in the country, where production of the car continued even after its closure in other regions.
Among new Ford vehicles, the second place in demand — after the Ford Transit — went to the F-150 pickup, which received 13.9%. Its average price is 13,900,000 rubles, and its share in the supply is 10.1%. The F-150 is also a long-lived model: it has been produced since 1975. From their ancestor — the sixth generation of F-series pickups — modern F-150s have retained, perhaps, only versatility and a decorative “bend” along the entire body. It was to him that the predecessor owed his nickname — Dentside Ford. Today, the F-150 is in its 14th generation. This is a full hybrid (Full hybrids) and a real heavyweight, because it can not only transport loads weighing more than 1500 kg, but also pull a trailer weighing more than 5 tons. The model has taken another step towards the future: it is equipped with an Active Drive Assist system, which does not require keeping your hands on the steering wheel — at least when driving on the roads of some Western countries.

The third place in demand among new Ford cars was taken by a compact pickup truck — the Ford Ranger. Its share in demand is 2.2%, and in supply – 3.8%. The average price of a car is 6,850,000 rubles. According to the manufacturer, the car was tested in the most severe climatic conditions, at temperatures from -40 to more than +50 degrees Celsius. Each car goes through approximately 1,000 checks, including several non-trivial ones. For example, it is sprayed with water for 20 minutes in a controlled pressure water test to replicate the worst rainfall imaginable. Tests are also carried out on a high-speed track and a rough road — on each of them the vehicle must complete one full lap in order to receive permission to release.
